Welcome to the City of Fairmont's Online Permit Center

PERMIT APPLICATION AND PROCESSING TIME:

Please allow one to two business days to receive an email response regarding the status of your permit application. Applications which are complete and detailed can be reviewed faster.

 Permits are not valid until approved, paid for, and issued.

Prior to applying for a permit, please review the application checklists found in the documents tab below for required submittal(s).

 

INSPECTION REQUEST SCHEDULING:

**Inspection requests are required to be made by 4:30 PM the previous day to be on the next day's schedule. Most inspections will be conducted between the hours of 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Inspectors will be available to contact between the hours of 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM.


WHAT CAN YOU DO ON THIS PORTAL?

  • Apply for a Permit
  • Submit drawings and other documents for review
  • Pay permit fees 
  • Request an inspection
  • Lookup pending applications, issued permits, and inspection results
  • Review parcel information

This application provides public access to the current status of permits and inspection requests, as well as, access to reference materials and documentation.

What's the status of my application?

Upon submitting your application, it will undergo the following Permit Process States:

  • Pending
    • Application has been received and a permit record has been created
  • Technically Complete
    • All required submittal documents have been received and accepted
  • Approved
    • All workflow/process steps required for approval have been completed/approved
  • Ready to Issue
    •  All associated contractor licenses are valid (Not suspended or expired)
  • Issued
    • All fees have been paid unless marked exempt or deferred
  • Finaled
    • All required inspections have been completed and approved
  • Closed
    • All workflow/process steps required for closure have been completed/approved and all fees paid
  • Expired
    • A permit may be set to the Expired State when the expiration date is in the past.
  • Cancelled
    •  A permit may be set to the Cancelled State at any time.
